I teac the Painting class and have finally tweaked the course website (once Voni approves, that is) to clarify and focus the assignments. It's been a very demanding class as, sometimes, 2-3 paintings are due per week and it's too much for them to grasp or progress in such a short period.

Hello!
ReplyDeleteI teach the Portfolio and Portfolio Preparation courses mostly, at AIOP. On many occasions I have had students from the 100 and 200 level courses, whom I taught a few years ago, in these portfolio courses. It is exciting to see their names again and see how much they and their work has grown.
I have rewritten the DIM1 course and still need to tweak the bugs out of it.
Lately I have been teaching many sections of the Design Team Production course, which is both a challenge and fun. Students need to learn how to both work together, in teams, to complete a board game design but they also need to work out their schedules together in order to make the project and communication go smoothly.
Sometimes, my job in this course is to iron out some of the "miscommunications" between students which can be a challenge.
I am off to start a new term!

HI Marnie and thanks for posting - any tips for folks working with students in teams? I wish we had more assignments like that as it always generates more energy around one specific project. Robin
