Use of Blogs in Studio Art Online Classroom

Do you think having access to a blog would be an asset in your studio art classroom? Could students have another way to interact - feel more casual and less "formal" by coming to a blog, or would it be confusing for them to have another "place" to go other than the classroom environment?

  1. I do feel it would be great for students to have an informal place to go and discuss artwork or just get to know one another and network. BUT - the problem I see is yet another online site and if it's linked through the classroom, is it really 'external'....?

  2. I agree, Merrily - I think it's hard enough (particularly with the new platform which I'm not as crazy about - visually) for them to see everything as it is. My students this session are getting "lost" and things they used to know/see easier are now not as visible - are you finding the same thing?

    Thanks for posting!
